SUNSHINE STATE CDE AT FLORIDA HORSE PARK, OCALA, FL, FEB. 29-MARCH 2, 2008. Charlotte, driving Mary, our 6 year old Haflinger Mare, for the first time at "Intermediate" level, competed at the Sunshine State CDE. We were 6th after dressage, but only 2 points out of third place. The marathon was a blast, and we came in 2nd behind Phyllis Grupe of California, only 2 points (10 seconds) behind her. We even were the fastest in hazard #1. And we were the only entry in our class of 9 to go double clean in cones, winding up third overall in the class behind Grupe and Sybil Humphreys of Virginia. This was only the 4th time we had shown the mare at a competition and her first time at Intermediate level. Quite an accomplishment!!!
